We are on this
earth to recognize who we are: incarnate spirit beings who should unfold again
their inner nature, the love, in the life-school earth.
We human beings
hold latent within ourselves immeasurable treasures and powers, which we can
unearth and make useful through a conscious, purposeful life.
The powers of
our thoughts are mightier than we can conceive it: What we think becomes sooner
or later reality.
We should be
fully aware that each thought, the positive as well as the negative one, seeks
realization.
We should be
conscious of the eternal light aglow within us. God, the eternal Spirit,
supports us decisively if we commune with ourselves and turn within, if we turn
towards the inner power and link with it. It is capable of everything in us and
through us.
An aspect of
that is the right way of praying, praying unceasingly. Praying unceasingly
means doing everything in accordance with the eternal law. It means nothing but
to concentrate on one point: on God, the omnipotent power; then we will also
receive.
The prerequisite
is love towards all people. A little love towards people is also a little love
towards God. Prayer is effective solely when we believe in God and love Him and
love our neighbour as ourselves.
Only by way of
concentration can we pray correctly and fervently, and that by directing our
whole attention inwards, towards the central light, which is the energy of
infinity and, in us, the energy for soul and body. An answered prayer is often
an evidence of the effect proceeding from the gathering of inner powers, that
is, from concentration.
The strong faith
in a higher power, in the eternal light in us, and the actualization of the
laws lead to strong concentration, which triggers the grace effect.
A thoughtless
babble of what is not understood or not actualized is in no way a prayer. Inner
concentration is a prerequisite of the heart prayer, whereby we pray in our
inner being and are thereby in contact with the omnipotent power. This power
just waits that we come to it and let it inspire us and guide us.
Praying should
always be the expression of an active love to the inexhaustible power that
becomes effective in us as soon as we believe in it through affirmation and
actualization. It then becomes reality in our soul and in our body and is
effective therein. It works for the person who lives with God. Concentrating on
the divine, by thinking and living divinely, causes these holy powers to flow
in us and through us. We are in God, and God lives through us.
This means: With
God you live easier, for God is there for us. He wants to act through us. What
God takes in hand succeeds. Let us extend our hands to Him and ask Him that He
may think and act through us; then we will live in God and He will live through
us - with God you live easier.
Few people know
that they themselves have caused their suffering, their misery and their
sorrow. They do not know that the power to recognize their sins and to repent
lies within themselves. They do not know that the guilt can be wiped out by
Christ solely when they repent accordingly and resolve not to sin any more.
The process of
becoming aware, of repentance and of actualization makes us free. A further
aspect of it is that we forgive others their faults. For only if we can forgive
those who trespasses against us will we, too, obtain forgiveness from God.
Furthermore, only if we repent of our misdeeds and obtain forgiveness from the
person concerned can God forgive us.
Therefore it is
said: Recognize yourself and comply with the laws of God in your way of living,
thinking and acting. Strive always for the Most High and discard what you have
recognized as base; then soul and body will be in harmony.
The active
vibrations emanating from us and acting in our own life and in the world around
us are not visible to the physical eye; yet, they are the causes of our
harvest. Whatever we take as seed into our soul is our harvest. What has
influence upon us is at the same time the effect. To master our thinking means
to determine our life.
