The law of correspondence is an
aspect of the law of cause and effect. This part-aspect in the law of cause and
effect is the CAUSE as such, not the effect. It is the sowing, not the reaping.
Whatsoever man sows, so shall he reap. Therefore, whatever he projects into
himself by his thoughts and words will have to be borne by him, the positive as
well as the negative things. If the soul and person is filled with the
Infinitive Love, then only love will stream forth from him, no matter what his
neighbour may say, no matter what his neighbour may think of him. If a soul is
burdened, the man will react accordingly. The soul is therefore magnetic. It
receives positive things as well as negative ones and radiates whatever it
receives. This is the soul's aura, also called the corona of man.
The Eternal Love is effective as
unending grace and mercy in this world, in every single person. He who examines
himself will soon recognise himself by virtue of this law. So, by the grace of
the Eternal, you are privileged to recognise the causes, which have not taken
effect. Accordingly, you still have time to repent of them, to atone for them,
and you will be forgiven. And so, the cause, the once committed cause, will not
become effective. For this reason, recognise yourselves in the frame of the law
of correspondence.
For example, you meet an acquaintance;
you approach him in a friendly manner. Suddenly you notice that your
acquaintance is not well disposed toward you. Whatever he bears within him is
now coming out of him. He accuses you of having no love; he points out to you
your errors and weaknesses. He believes that such and such thing you have done
is wrong. Now it is up to you how to react. If you are angry and irritated and
counter him with harsh words, if an exchange of words, a verbal battle,
follows, if you defend yourself ...you should think: here I can recognise
myself. My neighbour just gave the triggering impulse, so that I may recognise
myself. All what has irritated me about my neighbour, the very same or similar
things are still part of me as well. He merely addressed my causes, my own
correspondences. At the same moment when your neighbour comes towards you and
accuses you, the correspondence comes into vibration. You can no longer keep
your temper. Excitedly you will give forth what is within you. Oh recognise: at
that same moment, he who lives in the state of self-examination will say:
"there are causes within me; I have to conquer these causes myself".
He who seriously tries to examine himself will receive help from within, from
the power of love, so that he may recognise these causes, so that he may repent
of them and atone for them. Once they have been atoned for, they no longer have
to be borne.
How often does man say: this or
that person is unloving? With such words, the speaker gets angry. Why does he
get angry? Only because he himself has little love. The law of correspondence is at the same time
the law of recognition.
Whatever is still contained
within you will come out of yourself; will manifest itself in your speech. Just
as you are in your inner being, so you will sense, feel, think and act.
Another example: one of your
neighbours slanders you, scoffs at you and ridicules you. He says evil things
about you. You recognise that it is not true. In your innermost being, there is
not the slightest irritation.
On the contrary, because of the
slander, because of the ill-chosen words, love streams forth from your inner
being, love for the one who is slandering you and accusing you. If you act in
this way, you can be sure that such or similar things are no longer a part of
you, all what he accuses you of. So why is it in your neighbour? Why is it
within the one who is slandering you? In a former life, you had some connection
with this person. You have recognised it in time; you have seen your fault and
have atoned for it. You have recognised it in time; you have seen the error of
your ways and have atoned for it. You, therefore, have become free of it. But
within him all these things, all the things which in a former life or in this
life were a cause, are still vibrating.
The more one lives in the world
and is with the world, the less is the light of the soul and the less he hears
the impulses of the Eternal.
The law of correspondence is
therefore part of the law of cause and effect, of sowing and reaping. As you
sense, feel, think, as you speak and live, so are you. That is the actual state
of your inner being.
Again and again, man has the
opportunity to recognise himself, through his communication with his neighbour,
through his subconscious which is becoming active, and through his upper
consciousness. The numerous sensations and thoughts racing through your head
are your correspondences. Whatsoever occupies you daily, whatsoever moves you
again and again, lies within you.
God, the Eternal Light, the
Eternal Love in Christ, puts into our hands a wonderful gift, the law of
correspondence. We can examine ourselves as from now and discover our causes.
If we get irritated when our neighbour tells us something which is, perhaps,
annoying or unpleasant for us, we have to recognise ourselves. We do not say:
it is my neighbour's fault. We say instead: this is myself, my brother or
sister simply gave me the impulse, so that I can recognise myself. He who uses
this law of correspondence truly has the key in his hand. He also knows that
his every illness or indisposition is nothing else than a cause which has
reached its effect.
As soon as we ask God for help,
as soon as we repent of our offences and atone for them, the Source of the soul
begins to vibrate and glow more intensively. The Eternal Power, God, irradiates
soul and body more strongly and helps us to overcome our weaknesses, or He
takes away as much as is good for our soul. We have not to bear our causes when
we recognise them, repent of them and atone for them in time. Every soul, every
person, is a child of the Most High, no matter what correspondences are
present. God, Love, sees only perfection within us. God does not send us
hatred, illnesses. There is no hatred or illness in God.
When we ask for forgiveness, we
will obtain forgiveness, and the causes will be transformed, so that they no
longer have to be borne.
So
we can recognise ourselves in the frame of the law of correspondence.
