In September
2003, I saw "by chance" in the educational program of BR a a lecture in the series THINKING
TIME TU Munich on extreme sports and experience looking in nature. One of the
speakers was the ethnologist and Dipl. Psychologist Holger Kalweit. The topic
of his presentation was, inter alia, the darkroom retread that he met on his
trips to the natural peoples of the world and he lived through in Tibet. As
anthropologist, he explored the ancient cultures and the cosmology of primitive
peoples. With his knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist, he has
introduced the Darkroom retread several years ago in Germany.
Since I
myself have lived for several years in India and Africa and was open to
initiation rites,
I was deeply
impressed by the described experience and have decided this dark therapy
experience.
I obtained his telephone number, and called him. Three days later, I was with him.

The Dark therapy is therefore an initiation ritual (initiation ritual), a
method of self-awareness in darkness. It is exercised with variations in almost
all traditional cultures, especially in Japan, India, Tibet and some Indian
tribes. The renunciation, solitude and seclusion are used for internal
reflection and introspection.
The Dark
therapy uses the darkness, silence and isolation to stop the flow of thoughts
and feelings in order to reach the state of inner emptiness. One learns the
self-awareness as a nuisance, or even as a disease.
The darkness in which one remains several days alone is, as a means of returning to the
unconscious states used. The result is a state without thinking, without feeling and without own will. Man is reduced to the essentials. From this void now appear inner images,
